SMS Terms & Messaging Policy
Last updated: August 19, 2026
Program description
TextMail is an account-based notification service. Each subscriber receives a personal TextMail email address (for example abc123@textmail.us). Emails sent to that address — typically messages from an email group the subscriber belongs to — are converted into SMS and delivered to the subscriber’s own verified mobile number. Only the account holder receives messages. TextMail does not send marketing or promotional messages and does not message anyone who has not registered and verified their own number.
How subscribers opt in
- The subscriber creates a TextMail account with Google or email and password.
- In the dashboard, the subscriber enters their own mobile number and checks a consent box that reads: “I agree to receive text messages from TextMail at this number. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.” The consent checkbox is unchecked by default and is not a condition of purchase of any other good or service.
- TextMail sends a one-time 6-digit verification code by SMS. Messages are only delivered after that code is entered successfully.
Sample verification message:
TextMail: your verification code is 123456. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Msg&data rates may apply.
Sample forwarded message:
TextMail from soccer-parents@example.com: Practice moved to 5pm at the north field.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends entirely on how many emails the subscriber’s email group sends to their TextMail address. Subscribers control this by choosing which groups receive their address, and messages stop when their message balance is exhausted or auto-renewal is turned off.
Rates
Message and data rates may apply. TextMail service costs $10.00 for 1,000 messages, where one message is one SMS segment of up to 160 characters.
HELP and STOP
- Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or email support@textmail.us.
- Reply STOP to any message to cancel. Subscribers receive one confirmation message and no further texts. Subscribers can also remove their number in the dashboard at any time.
- To resume, a subscriber must re-enter and re-verify their number, which re-establishes consent.
Carrier disclosures
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. TextMail must not be used for emergency communications. Prohibited content — including messages relating to illegal substances, hate speech, adult content, gambling, or high-risk financial offers — is not permitted and may result in account termination.
Privacy
No mobile information is sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Opt-in data and consent records are not shared with any third party other than the messaging providers used to deliver the subscriber’s own messages. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
